Spring Program Registration

The intent of the Spring Season program is to provide an ongoing soccer experience for those players with the desire play year-round soccer. This is a supplemental and selective program as opposed to the fall season when every player is placed, as the number of players selected in each division will depend on the amount of qualified coaches willing to coach in the Spring, as well as field availability. Spring Season is our secondary program with the City of Laguna Niguel, so field priority is first given to other spring sports, such as baseball. So the limit of players may depend on the limit of field space.

The Spring Season is available for players from the 5U through 18U divisions.  The 5U - 7U program is a regional program with all games being played on Laguna Niguel fields and is a Saturday ONLY commitment with no practices, unless the coach decides to hold voluntary practices. The 8U - 18U divisions are an Area L run program with a gaming circuit requiring travel to neighboring cities and AYSO regions, as far south as San Clemente to as far north as Lake Forest. The Spring Season program does not use funds from the fall program; therefore, there is a charge to participating players.

Anyone may register to play in the Spring Season, however players who participated in the R41 Fall Season program playing in at least 50% of the games and exhibiting a positive AYSO attitude are given priority to be placed on a Spring Season team/roster prior to a newly register player who did not play in the previous Fall Season. Priority of placement on a team for the Spring Season is FIRST given to players whose parents were volunteer coaches, referees or board members. SECONDLY players are then placed on teams provided there are enough interested volunteer coaches to allow for more teams to accommodate all players registered for the Spring Season. It is possible that not all players desiring to play in the Spring Season will be placed on a team/roster. For a player to be a mandatory pick for a Spring Season team the parent must have been a registered volunteer during the Fall Season as a Coach, Referee or Board Member.  A Referee's child will only be a mandatory pick if he or she refereed a minimum number of 5 games.  In addition the referee must be willing to referee during the Spring Season as well.  All prospective coaches must have age appropriate certification.

The Spring Season runs from March through mid-May with some possible post-season tournaments running into June.
