AYSO works because of our volunteers' work! Parents: When you register your child to play soccer this fall, ask us how you can help. There are many opportunities where YOU can make a difference. Don't let a cancelled check be your only memory. Follow through on the job you sign-up for when you volunteer.
So many Youngsters!
Over 3,000 registrants expected...
So many things that need to be done!
When you register your child to play, you will be asked to volunteer to help with some of the many tasks that need volunteers to make the AYSO vision into reality. What can you do?>
Coaches: Most begin with their children in Divisions U6 & U8, where we need the greatest number due to the large number of teams formed. Grow in your coaching skills as your child progresses to the upper divisions. Coach training from the Region, and your experience, will combine to help you keep pace with the upper divisions. There is no more rewarding volunteer position (though Refereeing is equal).
Referees: Again, you start with some fundamental training, and work in the younger divisions to gain experience and confidence! This is such an important position. Our children cannot play their games unless a qualified Referee is present for the game. Plus, you have the very BEST "seat" in the stadium!
U6/U8 Fields: You will be asked to help set-up the goals on game day when your team has the first game of the day, and to stow equipment if the last game of the day is yours.
Photo-Day: Help with the Scheduling of teams, collecting photo registration forms, "mob" control during the day, moving teams to assigned places on time!
Equipment Management: A few strong volunteers (with a truck, if available) are needed to get equipment: paint, goals, flags, painters, nets...delivered and kept up-to-par at our fields during the season. One full day at the start of the season, then a few half days during the rest of the soccer year, is all it takes. You see the results of your effort every week at the games...the beautifully striped fields, the flags in place, with nets properly in place!
