FAQ

How long is the Fall soccer season and when are the games?

Region 41 typically plays its first soccer games on the first or second Saturday in September after school starts.  Games are played on Saturdays only, with the exception of U14, U16 & U19, which may play on Saturdays and Sundays. Players in U5 through U8 conclude in early November.  The older teams go into the play-offs and could continue playing into December.

Where are the games played?

AYSO is the largest recreational soccer league in our area - boasting some 22,000 players in the Saddleback Valley.  We partner with 9 other regions: San Juan Capistrano, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Beach, RSM, Lake Forest, and San Clemente.  Our older teams may play against these sister cities.  Some games are home and some are away.  The younger teams in the U6 and possibly the U8 divisions plays against a bordering city.  The U5 Jamboree games are always held at the same Laguna Niguel field.

How does AYSO work ? How may I help?

The AYSO organization is run entirely by volunteers. You may help as a coach, referee, team parent, Board Member or in other areas. AYSO will provide complete training and cover all fees, including background checks.

History Of AYSO

The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) was established in the Los Angeles area in 1964 with nine teams. It was the dream of a group of devoted soccer enthusiasts who started the organization in a garage. Today, AYSO has more than 50,000 teams and more than 650,000 players.
